ABP Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management (PgD BM)

This programme is designed for graduates or experienced managers who wish to further develop their career in management. The programme covers a wide range of contemporary issues and develops the critical, analytical and technical skills needed by senior management staff. The programme will also develop the academic skills required for further study at postgraduate level.

Entry Requirements

On entry a student will have:

  • An honours degree from a UK university (minimum 2:2) in any subject, or equivalent award from a non-UK university, OR
  • Two years' work experience at managerial level with significant responsibility for resources (staff, financial, physical etc, or a combination of these). Prospective students must be able to demonstrate that these responsibilities were significant and that they had a high level of autonomy.

If the student does not have an undergraduate degree that was wholly taught and examined in English, they will need to have English proficiency to IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

  • Unit 1 Strategic Business Management and Planning (180 hours)
  • Unit 2 Organisational Resource Planning (180 hours)
  • Unit 3 Management of Financial Resources and Performance (180 hours)
  • Unit 4 Leadership and Change Management (180 hours)
  • Unit 5 Corporate Management in Action (integrative case study) (180 hours)

Career Opportunities

The qualification is designed to allow entry to and/or enhance progression in a wide range of management roles in the public, private or charitable sectors.

Students who have successfully completed ABP PgD BM will be eligible to progress onto the Masters level of the University of Worcester :

  • MSc in Management

Alternatively, students who meet the above requirement and also have two years relevant managerial work experience are welcome to apply onto:

  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

Holders of ABP Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management will be given 80 credits from Masters programmes awarded by the University of Worcester. On completion of an additional 100 credits, students will either be awarded an MBA or an MSc in Management depending on the focus of their dissertation and their managerial experience.
