The courses are designed
to equip students with the necessary skills to educate, support
and achieve high quality oral health care standard and practice.
They provide students with the knowledge required and the
communication skills needed to impart knowledge and increase
confidence to develop a career in the chosen course.
A written practical and
oral certification exam based on a case study will follow
after the students finished and are prepared to sit for the
exams. Practical Oral based on a Case Study.

Course
Details:
Each course is a one-year full-time sandwich course wherein
students spend one day a week studying at the college and
a minimum of two days a week doing practice work experience
in a Dental Surgery or Hospital.
The student spends one day
a week for nine months culminating in an examination and another
three months of additional practice programme. The practical
programme includes workshops and field trips to schools, community
centres and hospital.
Students will also prepare
a case study in their work placement as part of the examination,
and be observed teaching on a one-to–one basis, or in
small groups, under the supervision of the dentist.
Application Requirement:
In order to enrol for this course, you must be a qualified
dental nurse who has:
- A recognized & applicable qualification
i.e., NVQ Level 3 in Oral Health Care, the National Certification
for Dental Nurses( NCDN), or equivalent ;
- An agreement with a dentist to act as
your supervisor before the application for the examination
can be accepted (we can help with this if necessary).
